I traded an Olympus C-5050 digital camera, a first generation Sony Blu-Ray player, (I bought a new one) and some older stereo equipment that I no longer had a use for, for the bike. It's immaculate! It's a nice change of pace when I don't feel like muscling my KZ1100 around.
Wow, do I ever hate you! That's my bike! It's a 1980 KZ650 F1. Let's see..... hmmmmmmm....... ok, I'll trade you 10 AA batteries, a 7 year old VCR (works) and I'll throw in some old flash lights for the seat and fuel tank! :woohoo: Did I mention how I hate you??

How 'bout this: the '82 GPz750 was sorta/kinda running when I got it back and I thought "I'll just get it running real good and then I can get stoopid with the rest of my projects". Sounded rational. After all it ran...just really poorly...needed the carbs cleaned...right? So - as always - I threw a couple clean mods on it real quick and cleaned the carbs [verrrrrry lengthy dramatic story omitted for the sake of the post-reader's sanity] ... and now that I've got the problem traced down to the ignition triggers I'll be ordering the parts when I can afford 'em b/c I'm broker than a 'broken thing'. All this couldn't be avoided b/c my income was hindered over summer and all my projects got back-logged b/c I needed to finish my garage to do the rest of my projects...garage still ain't finished, yet.
I know, I know: boo-hoo, whah-whah. :silly: Whattaya do? School starts Monday and all my projects (except the GPz which is sooooooo close) will be on the winter back-burner. Heh-heh-heh, you gotta get a summer like this so that you really appreciate the summers that rock!...right?!
Oh, and btw: the GS1150 is about a weekend away from 'running'...if I could get a weekend in my garage and get the beast back IN my garage!
I guess I could be grumpy, but I'm alive, got all my 'parts', my little kids are cute, and my wife is HOT ... I'll get my KZ650 ONE DAY!!! ...until then you bastiches keep posting yours up so I can get some ideas!
Here's the idea for mine: sort of a cross between 'rstnick's verrrry cleanly done 'Mad Max'-esque theme and a Duck Paul Smart (replica or racer). I want to put a TL1000S tail section on it (complete with TL exhaust cans) and a Dunstall/Rickman-esque (like a PS rep) front fairing. Inverted forks and wide swing arm with spoked rims front and rear, but wide 17"s (again, ala PS Replica). I know I'm reallllly asking for a lot, but when I see the KZ650, that's kinda what I see...and my wife would dig it, then we can get rid of her '650 Hawk gt'...(and then I couldn't take it to track days anymore).
You dorks are great! Keep posting the pictures!

It's a '78 C2, only 6 numbers off my own.
It's going to be a father son project. My 15 year old is going to help me with it in hopes he will be able to ride it when he and the bike are ready.
I also have what is left of my brother's '79 C3 650 that will donate even more parts to another 650.
I should also be finally installing the 18" front Z1R wheel I have onto my first C2 as I've got to finally get new tires this Winter.
