1982 Gpz 750 R1 was created by tri650
Came across this site as I was looking for information on mounting my front fairing.
Started this project about 6 years ago with a frame up restoration. It lingered without much work the last 3-4 years. Finally decided this year to finish it. I have done all of the work myself. About 95% of the way there - just need to figure out exhaust, clean gas tank and finish up some wiring. Struggling with mounting the front fairing also.
If there are any other 1982 Gpz 750 owners out there I would love to hear from you.

Congrats and nice job doing it yourself and seeing it through! There are a few 82 GPz owners here
Enjoy and congrats again, doing something similar but more resto-mod on my 85 GPz750.

Very nice bike! Do you have a pic of exhaust side? I also have a 4-1 but the aftermarket muffler (Vance & Hines) is shot and wondering what options are out there for replacement.

So, what is your concern about mounting the front fairing on your GPz?

Can't figure out how the lower bracket mounts to fairing. Here is my situation:

That's not how mine mounts. Mine sits under the bracket, I think. Do the holes line up? May be an aftermarket fairing.

Post a photo of the fairing...just to make sure you have the GPz750 fairing....and like ThatGPzGuy says, the fairing attaches under the mount.

The holes line up but their is a lip right above the where the bracket would fit - you can sort of see it on my pic. You can barely fit the bracket between the lip and the mounting holes. When I do this and then try and attach you can tell it is way off - sits really low. It was on the bike originally but I don't recall how it was mounted.
I don't have a pic of the entire fairing - will take one tonight. If it is an aftermarket it is an exact replicate of the original - although I think the lip may be the difference if this is aftermarket. If anyone has a pic of the exact mounting that would help

Did someone say 82 GPz750? Doing a mild, reverable, restomod myself. (Link in Sig line)
FYI the headers from a 2k-ish ZR7 bolt right on except for the under frame hanger and are stainless steel. I have some on mine and they're awesome. The full exhaust system doesn't look too bad either.
