Just curious.....would a standard chain drive motor bolt right into a shaft frame? I always assumed it would but I don't know for sure......

I really, really want to know the answer to this question- makes all the difference in the world!

And the anwser is......wait for it............ YES ! :woohoo:
I know this for a fact siince I bought a defective KZ1100 chain engine and took some parts from it for the conversion. The engine mountings are identical...
An engine swap would be way easier thant the conversion i did.

Yeeep...new bearings for the stem. Slight modification of the lock nut and the front end is cloer to final assembly.

Any one know how to get the "blue" spring loaders off ? Do you have to open the fork ?

arnold,
you will have to remove the upper hexed cap,
and then remove the preload adjuster from that.

You can use sodium hydroxide (NaHO) to remove the blue anodization.

I used oven cleaner on an anodized aluminum swingarm...worked very well. I think the good cleaners contain NaOH....strong stuff.....don't leave it on too long.

Yeah...read that you get small parts done in 2 minutes. It will then require some polishing..
