Well, I'll be damned. Little rich and sounds like a vacuum leak somewhere!

The bish is almost ready for the road. The list of needed stuff is slowly dwindling into nothing! Needs a rear brake line, and a rear tire, then she will be waiting for warmer weather!

It's still kinda lean though. Any idea what jetting should be? Currently a 112.5 main with 17.5 pilot on the third clip. Leans way out around 5500-6000 rpm. Gonna drop the clip on the needle 1 notch and order some 115\117.5 mains I guess.

Awesome rear sets I picked up

Expensive regulator for lithium ion battery

And hands down the best battery I have ever seen for a motorcycle. 120CCA and measure 4.25" x 1.25" x 3.75" Turns the bike over with plenty of juice and only needs to run a LED head and tail light :)

So where'd you get the reg/rec? I'd love to be able to run a lipo battery to save weight and space

Are the carbs off of the 650? Or are these also 750 carbs? I'm running a dynajet stage 3 kit on my 650 overbore (up to the 720 kit). With the upgrade kit (needles, half clips, and jets), it took some tinkering to get tuned in properly. When you say it's running lean, does it lean pop when you let off on the throttle? I think I went half a step richer on my bike when I was tuning. Hope this helps a little. I know it's not overly comparable if you're still running the stock needles, but hopefully it's a little helpful.

The needles are out of a rebuild kit, and are apparently more tapered or something? They are the VM24 off of the KZ650, but it will just rev to 6k or so and start popping like crazy and die.

That's strange because with a more tapered needle, you should be getting more fuel in that part of the circuit when the main kicks in. Maybe it would be worth going up a step on the main to get more fuel through that circuit? I know my Dynajet kit has MUCH larger mains in it than stock.

Yeah, the Dynojet stage 3 uses a 118 or 122 sized main, which is rather large. I may need to step up to that unfortunately as I'm only running a 112,5 with foam pods and open header.

Yeah, it comes with the two sizes. I'm currently running the 122 which was a BIG move off stock size, but it's working out perfectly well. I don't burn rich in the top end at all, and I tuned it a half step richer once I got some lean popping on it.

The engine is bored to the 720, running a 4-1 header off an '01 zephyr 750 with a Yosh can (2.5" throughout) and Emgo single pods on it. Somewhat similar to where you're at now.

I'd jump up on the jets a few steps- maybe jump straight to the 118 and see what that does for you.

If you're at 720 with 122 I'm going to assume the 117.5 will suit me just fine. Just bought some 117.5 and 120s. Thanks for all the info!
