Pretty good day got home and Brian hooked me up once again. Hope I can return the
favor someday.

My rotor got here so I am 1 step closer to my front end swap!

also received my brake pads for the Goldwing today. gotta leave the house by 5 in the morning get to my bike and get it cleaned up and swap out all 3 sets of pads on the goldwing gas up and ride to Chndler about 30 miles by 9 then go collect a few more riders by 10 gonna be pretty stressful

nothing like waiting til the last minute to get things moving. I am glad I got the pads my buddy is riding my wing and wasnt gonna get to go. Just wish he could swap the pads while I clean. it will be nice to have the storage available

got my bike blessed Sunday had a great day out riding stopped by the park afterwards

anyway I hit brian up for some coils mine are 32 years old and i am not convinced
they arent acting up 1 has a crack where the wire plugs in and i just dont trust it

All in all a good ride about 100 miles acted up a little at about 60 miles in but
after the photo shoot #4 plug wire was a little loose and found a cut in the boot
after messing with it ran really well my face was sunburned as hexx.

will be replacing the 1980 Andrews coils wit Accel any input will be appreciated
Always ran MSD in my hotrods really no experience with Accel

How often should you lube the advance? I am not sure I lubed it when I changed out the
Dyna Ignition I just checked it to see if it was free

I only wish the covered bridge said 1978 lol

Those are some good pics. I feel for ya on the hanging a pic on the wall debate. Although, I'm getting a game room so I get to decorate it. I've all ready decided on the color, going with the silver mist blue like a Z1R with some of my favorite bike pics and posters.

Great day when you come home and the United States Postal Service has braved
the 78 degree perfect spring day to deliver your Coils> the tracking number had
Expected Monday delivery I had already made arrangements to go buy a Motor to build
So tomorrow will be a good day gonna take off around noon put my new to me coils on!!!

I just recently got the same kind of package from the same guy. Only my coils are green. Brian reminds me of Willy Wonka, disbursing 'candy' to all us kids.

Wiily Wonka has sure came through with my sugar fix quite few times lol

as some of you know I am laid off from work I fave been helping out at thr truck shop to make a few bucks until I go back so I dont have a scgedule to work I come in do my thing and leave well today was no exception except I have 2 Accel coils begging to be put on.

I have a full grasp of the coils I had on my bike wiring and what not so I am yhinking 30 minute i will be riding.

Pull the tank check! unhook battery check! remove left coil check! sit new coil where its gonna go umm its a shade longer than the endrews which was obviously a bolt on replacement. OK Accel is a shade longer and will need to be flipped over to work no problem elongate the holes a little bolts right up.

Install other side check wiring everything is ok put plugwires on left side 1&4 right side 2&3
hook battery up test power to coils with test light all good hit starter button fires and backfires like crazy??? check everything again its right! spay some water on the pipes 2&3 no steam
Check wiring again fore it up obviously rubbing on 1 coil WTF??

right side is dead reverse coils same thing coil is good put everything back the way it goes pull number 2 plug wet smells like gas ok lay it on head turn motor over weak spark bu spark hummm!!
put a new plug in it check spark fat and blue install plug fire it up and now it wont run period!!

popping back through carbs I have to have the wires crossed!! NO I dont so I sit down and smoke a cigarette time is running out i have to be somewhere a 4:30 just short of throwing things i am sitting there looking at the signal wires and you guessed it they were backwards. i know i plugged them in correctly when i reversed everything back. Guess not!

Too tight valve clearances could cause valve seat leakage, especially after warm-up, resulting in less compression and weaker combustion, thereby making the plugs black and sooty.

Weak spark for whatever reason can make plugs black and sooty.

Too rich fuel mixture for whatever reason can make plugs black and sooty.
Overly rich mixture could result from such things as too high fuel level, jetting issues, insufficient air intake for whatever reason, too low clip position on jet needle, etc.
