I under stand that it is not fuel proof but I did use 5 coats of clear and I will have to use cation when fueling it up. I am letting it set for at least 4 days before even thinking about fueling . That should help and I will be using rags around the fill whole when filling to help prevent the gas from getting on the paint . I have seen many riders do this .

I was careful with fueling for 4 months after my rattle-can job. I was dealing with a jumpy pump handle, and trying to hold it just right so it would flow slowly. It splashed and fuel hit my tank. I reached for the squeegie and it was dry. So now my clear coat looks as if it melted.

I do agree after a experience I had yesterday . I was going to paint a fire bird on the top of the tank . I put a lot of work on the prep and color and clear coat and I had a couple of different Golds but only one was compatible with the color and clear I use . The cans look alike . Well I grabbed the wrong can . Needles to say I am repairing the top of my tank and I said heck with the bird . I am going to call my local body shop and find out how much they charge to spray a couple coats of clear on the tank . Since I used Auto paint in the raddle can I hope they can clear it for me Over what I have . I am going to run with what I have for the side covers since they should not see any gas .

Some Mothers Back to Black followed by 303 Aerospace Protectant will bring that seat back to life in a grand way. Neither product will leave the seat slick like Armorall does. I use both on my Goldwing seat all the time.

The Mothers Back to Black will bring life back to all your black plastic as well. Then follow up with 303 on those items as well.

Thanks I was wondering how I was going to take care of my seat and the part of the air box that shows . Thanks for the tip I will use it . I have used the 303 on a rag top on a 2001 seabring I had and it works .
