Also, you said the SV brakes interfered with the wire wheels before you trimmed the fork mounts...would they have cleared the mags without fork mods?
I am really enjoying your thread and it has been part of the reason mine is now stripped to the frame! :woohoo:

I never tried the SV brakes with the wire wheels, only the mags. Maybe someone cleverer than me could make them fit without grinding down the fork mounts (I'm no machinist) but that was what worked for me.
The tabs will stay on the wheel for now. I have been trying very hard to resist the temptation to go back and redo things differently. It happens now and then anyway, but it will add up to the project taking a lot longer.

I am going to start a build thread as soon as I get some of the pictures organized. I didn't intend on things getting this far out of hand when I started...cliche as that may be! Now I am down the rabbit hole for sure...

Nelson wrote: I've decided I want to advance both cams about 2 degrees from stock. I won't change the lobe separation. Stock is 110 lobe center on IN and 110 on EX according to our pal zed1015. So my desired 2 degree advance on both cams means lobe centers should be 108 on IN and 112 on EX? Is this correct?

I'm behind on posting pics. Here's what's happened in the last couple weeks or so.

When I bought them they appeared to be sand cast aluminum with no machine work done to them.

Media blasted caliper waiting for paint. As you can see I did not disassemble it. This is to save time. I already know these calipers work great, so why spend more time? The hose is an old one that I won't be using on the bike.

Unfortunately I seem to have misplaced the oil drain plug.. :S Odd. I remember cleaning it up on the wire wheel... I had it in a bag with the oil filter... but it ain't there now...
Oh well I'm sure it will turn up.
