painter is restoring the body to stock MKII in the luminous blue and decals right now....all new emblems sitting here to go on...
i am now, not sure ,about doing the lines right away...the new body set and all the other stuff is getting me spinning and going in many directions at once...
i may wait on the brake lines and oil cooler until before the Motogp in july...i have a ride/show to attend in mid-may and am starting to try and see if i can get the current ducks all in a row for now ,,,then see where i'm at cash and time wise...
gotta love the local kawi shop...new nut and two (one extra) bend tab washers for the front sprocket 22 bucks....
beats trying to auction in tiny stuff...

Re: Tri.... scores one for the barn find column 79MK11

well i got the pipe back from the ceramic coat shop..it looked decent and was all shrink wrapped..from what i could see it was gonna look great ,it has been raining for a few weeks, most days and i have not really done anything on the bike..but the sun came out after work today and i decided to clean shop and get things ready to pull the front off the MKII and maybe get forward again,
i go in the shop and fight the shrink wrap off...and assemble the header for some pics...the tag has not been touched up but i have the old school kerker small tag and a new one..i was gonna take pics with both and see what folks thought looked right...
couple pics indoors...went outside for better light...
and the ceramic coat is shit!!!
drips, skips, thin spots showing through and a hole stripe under the pipe where it appears missed...no coating inside the pipe...it looks like a kid did it with his eyes closed and a rattle can...$$%^^&&* place...plus there is grit or sand caught in the finish....150-175.00 for a junk job on top of the 250 i paid for a nice condition old school kerker... should have just flat blacked it...
this pic you can just see a gray line under the pipe that got missed all together..up close it is easier to see because of the 3 inch run that high lights it..
talked to OMR and i'm gonna go make them redo it..it is not acceptable..i could only see little sections with it wrapped...i hope the shop guy hid it from his boss by wrapping it...cause i dont wanna have to argue with these idiots...the showroom showed some stuff and the guy seemed smart...oh well...redneck finish...
here are a few bad light shots..looks good from 15 feet...bunch of shit if you ask me...
rant over
you cant see it but there is sand in the cans finish and worm trails where the sand moved while the stuff set up...

oh plus there are runs and globs on all the curves where the head pipe leaves the exhaust collers when mounted...it looks like a idiot did it in a hurry with a can of gloss paint...bummer...
on a good note i got the seat cover ready to install and will have pics sunday...this seat cover is the right pattern and matches exact a MKII...after ordering that p.o.s from Z--- and having to pay to ship it back....
see if i can find some pics i just got from arai of the body that is now ready...

i scored it on e-bay...the ones they make now are different in a few ways the old ones the better ones imo....
it had a few spots peeling but was installed and never heated it appeared..i had hoped this guy could re-do it...no big...just a set back ..not even if he stands by the re-do
i am gonna post a close up tomorrow...he said two coast and the inside is untouched plus it is only one shitty coat....i think it should be a dip type deal anyway...oh well
