built a little tire balance gig that unscrews later and stores under the bench

Try Valspar woodstove paint at Tractor Supply if you end up painting the pipe. It's durable and has a nice finish. It has a very slight amount of gloss, kinda like the ceramic heat paint, so you can clean it.

Also forgive if I missed it in an earlier post, but what size rear Avon are you using?

The bike is looking good.that brake bleeder hose so close to the painted rear tail would scare me a little.I really like the lift you have. im probably about your height and bent over working on the bike kills my back.I used to run dunlop 181 tires back in the day with stock rims.back then I used to scrape holes in my kerker and rub the pegs.im sure your tire compound is even better.
