hey dave. how about a garage dr opener.
some euro bikes, like the triumph have an extra button on the lt hand control, that is used for flashing the headlight. u could use 1 of those controllers , then rewire the extra button for a garage dr opener.
i have seen wiring diagrams for it. i may be able to find them again, if interested.

i'm not very good with electronics, but i think if u used a dedicated switch or changed out your lt control like i mentioned above, u would not need any of this fancy relay/ resistor stuff.

It is readily available as a kit, called a Flash2Pass
