Building a GPZ1150 from a CSR1000

Here is the new rear wireing.

Finally the tank is finished and mounted.

I had a dillema with mounting the front fairing because the mounting brackets are no longer available. So I got a bit inginuitive and used some Worldpool appliance brackets.

Maybe over the winter I will fit a set of 1987 ZX1000 gauges which i bought for this project. The Fuel Cap is coated with My own blend of Kal-Gard "Black Chrome"

From Cruser to "thoroughbread" By the way, what do you guys think of my paint job?

I will take more pictures tomorrow when I install the new front brakes and Mikuni 29SBs.

looks alot different then the day i seen it, it's turning into a real beauty. Cant wait to cruise over when it's done and check it out in person.

How about more info on the " Worldpool appliance brackets"? I am trying to mount a Maeir fairing to my J model and need a bottom mount bracket.

It would take up too much pressious room in the barn. I just use it when she's not home:whistle: Hay my Son lives in West Frankfort He graduated from Johnston City HS a couple years ago (I met my Ex Wife in Carbondale:sick: ):silly:

AWESOME PAINT JOB OTAKAR.You are doing a fabulas job.
Are u sure u will just lose .4 compresion with that head? when u put an 82 j/gpz head on a kz u loose 2 full points.if u are not sure let me know and i'll see if i can find something on it for u .Keep up the great work.

I did some volume measurments on the head and came up with that #. In other words I am not 100% sure. But if you put a J head on a Z1 block the entyre combustion chamber is much larger. Here the combustion diametter is the same only the valves are sunken a little bit more. If you take a look at the piston dome on a erly 1000 and a J 1000 they are completely different. This may account for the large drop in the compression in the Z1 to J mod. But that is only my Calculation and I have been known to be wrong:lol: If you can get exact #s please let me know.
