Wow! That is quite the transformation! B)
Looks awesome man!
In the AFTER pic; what is your pinstripe on the ducktail? Tape or paint?

Thanks wrench, I'm pretty pleased at how it turned out especially since I kind of made it up as I went along. The stripe is paint, genuine Kawasaki green. A girl always needs a little something to give her simple black dress a little pop B)

That Kawi green pinstripe is killer!
Are you the pinstripe painter too? Damn I wish I had a steady hand and creative mind for that kinda work.

I stared at the BEFORE and AFTER pictures for a long time and all the custom changes are subtle but really do make the difference between -
BEFORE - Dad's classic motorcycle
AFTER - Contemporary Sport bike.

It seems to me that when you customize a bike and yet it takes a while of staring at it to figure out what's custom/changed, then you're on the right track. Kinda' like if Kawasaki was making that bike today; what would they do differently from 1976? Guess, you were channeling Kawasaki Shōzō in your garage during this build? B)

wrench; I'm a pretty decent painter of things like living rooms. Everything else I leave to the pros.

Funny you should ask Doc. I thought about getting a stripe on the tank when I got the tail piece done. Then I thought I'd like the overall look to be kind of low key, let's just do the tail piece and see what it looks like when it's all put together and then decide. Didn't help at all. Now that I see it the way it is I'm if anything more undecided. I wonder what the KZR hive mind thinks?

This little worker bee will buzz in:

I love the size of the pinstripe & want to see more but think that you've done a great job so far with the design & decisions so it's your call of course.

I don't seem to have the left brain capacity (or is that right brain?) for making good esthetic/artistic decisions. So back to boring hive work for me...

I vote for a small pinstripe on the tank. It'll tie everything together. Small and tasteful like you did on the tail.

Permanent and perpetual noob.

For all of you who have been wondering what I look like (i.e. nobody) take a look at the [strike]right[/strike] left mirror (still can't tell my left from right). As you all know about photography I couldn't possibly have posed that, my head is perfectly framed in the mirror image, just bullshit luck. Bonus the camera covers up my ugly mug.
