I put off Bossie for 15 years being a single parent. No more. If a woman wants me to chose between what she wants or what I want, guess who loses? I guess that's why I'm single and loving it. :woohoo:

I haven't given up. Just don't want a ring in my nose. Like the song says, "I know she's out there somewhere under the western sky."

They're around and if treated right I could put off some things. I've learned to see the controller's coming and they can tell by the look in my eyes I'm not the type. The women in my family on my mother's side were and ended up the same way, alone. Not all are like that though.
Super tramp. take the long way home, "she use to be so nice."

[quote="Bowman" post=725070 So about $6-7K for new and used parts and things I can't do like painting and some other things. Plus about 100-150 hours of my time (likely more). All this for something that's loud, uncomfortable, dangerous and useless to me for 6-7 months a year. Oh, and any decent rider on a new Ninja 300 could probably humiliate me on the road or at the track.

I couldn't be happier B)[/quote]

I have a theory that most of what we (men living in a western nation) are attracted to share one to all 8 of these characteristics. Hot, Fast, Loud, Dangerous, Expensive, Difficult, Unforgiving, Vivifying. My motorcycles sure do!!
Nice work on the twin! I have a 78 that I am building too.

Finally got to do a bit of a shake down on the old girl. Put in brand new plugs and went for a rip on the highway, windy as hell so I chickened out at 132kph but the bike was still pulling strong. It stumbles a bit at around 3500 rpm but once you get through that it goes as good as it ever did so pshaw to all the pod haters out there B)

The plugs however were white as ghosts when I pulled them.

I ordered jets from Jets R Us a while back and when I took the old ones out they are nothing like the ones their web site says main jets for a 750 twin so I poked around some more and it seems Jets R Us lists the actual mains as pilots. Ordered some of them and we shall see if I can't get that nice tan colour happening.

Yeah well, if anyone wants to open a custom bike shop in Ottawa you might do alright. Three weeks at the service shop only to find they wouldn't touch the valves because they can't get shims. Didn't want to tackle it myself but turns out I had to, then when I checked them it turned out they were all in spec. Sheesh. Then 3 weeks for the body shop to get around to welding 6 tabs to the frame to mount side covers on.
