so beside the original battery....is there any other that may be smaller in size?

Yes but they won't be cheap. "gel" batteries can be mounted in any position. Here is some info I found on them. www.batterystuff.com/kb/articles/battery...cles/gel-vs-agm.html

Hope this helps.

I'm liking your build, it reminds me of my own lol. I went with all balls bearings because I cross-referenced the bearings for 04' GSXR and KZ and they were the same, but the GSXR stem was 3/8" too short. I then opted to make an adapter to pin and weld to the KZ stem out of 304 SS. Too bad I lost all those pics from the early part of the build. I had pics of setting up the suspension and chain alignment, the stem adapter, machining the sprocket carrier, etc. that I'm sure you and plenty of others could be using right about now.... :( Your doing a great job!

will it work with a 530 chain without modifing to the frame?

it varies buy frame.
but normally with a 5/8's offset you are going to run afoul of the frame.
you can heat the inside and use a big c-clamp to crush the inside of the frame tube to gain some clearance.otherwise you need to notch the frame out to account for some clearance.

i know that some guys have gotten by with a 1/2 inch offset without frame clearance problems.

I had to machine my sprocket carrier down a little so I could run a 5/8" offset cc sprocket. I would've had to use a 170 width tire on a 5 1/2" rim to use a 1/2" offset ( I also flipped my rear sprocket so the dish was to the inside ). I think it also depends on the swingarm clearances you have as well. Machining the carrier helped open the gap between the tire and swinger on the right side. Once again, a thinner rim would have made it a bit more manageable, but my frame clearances are acceptable (provided, I only ever run a non-o-ring chain).

GSX 750 1990 swingarm with a 5'5 rim and a 180 tyre.
Oring 530 chain and 5/8 offset sprocket and rear flipped.
No frame altercations and chain runs within less than a combined 5mm gap from frame and tyre. No damage other than taking the paint off the frame. 11000 k's

Soooo...... How is the clearance working out? We have an almost identical suspension build. Please post what you find. If I beat you to it this weekend I will do the same.
Oops nope our front ends are similar not the rear.

As soon as I can figure out how to get the pivot bearings out of the swing arm to replace them I will be able to get my sprocket alignment figured out.
