so since im waiting for my welder to arrive....got motivated on working on the bike.

mount for the top of shock...2" wide by 3/16 thick

another look

also mount the electrical on left side
Question...what / where are others mounting the battery?

another question is that my bike has chrome guages,lamp cover and the outer bottom and top caps of thr carbs. other bike do not have chrome ..others are black.
are both colors options?

Stock carb caps and bowls aren't chromed.
Owners often chromed the caps and bowls for esthetic reasons, sometimes only on the more visible outside carbs.

but really im only doing what other members have done....sometimes with a little twist of my own.
everything i am removing i am keeping just in case i decided to restore to stock form.

Looking good. Thanks for the heads up on my forks. How was the stem length? Did you only have to do the bearing conversion? I would much rather convert the bearings than mess with the stem. I don't have the tools to do it and having it done takes money out of the budget.

kaw-a-holic......
the washers are not needed. the stem is short ....i remove about 3/16 off the nut that goes on top of the bearing and was able to turn it about 6 times over. all came together nice...
what ill be with the top nut ill use lock tight on it..but with the triple clamps tight all will stay together.

working on battery location since shock will be a mono shock.
so beside the original battery....is there any other that may be smaller in size?
