I had started a post over at Chassis section because I had questions. But now I have a 93 GSXR 1100 rolling chassis.
Will be swapping front and rear to my 1977 KZ1000A. GSXR Is apart now and started on the Kz.
Was hoping to do a bearing swap for the front end but found the
bottom bearing on the gsxr stem rusted weld to it.

my plan was to try the allballs bearings.....but the lower bearing on the gsxr is rust welded to the stem. if I cant remove it I will have to do the stem swap wish will take me longer to do because of the tools required.
is there a member on here that can do these for us?

ok so leon is the member......I will reach out to him if I cant get the bearing off.
work a little on the bike.

banana style...is that what its called....3'' longer then stock

as you can see......arm,wheel,etc on
all I need now are the gs bushings and some washer to make up the free play
I need to gain about 3/16 in washers to center arm.
If anyone has some ideas please let me now.

Use a dremel and make small cuts till you are through it, then it should come right off.

another option is to get the race red hot with a torch. Then take it all to get it pressed out. The race will pop off as the stem is pressed out the bottom. Heating the race will help break the rust.

I'd try the dremmel first.

Looking good :) You might be in with a very good chance of scoring the bushings and dust caps and any required shims from your local motorcycle dismantler. The dust caps have shims inside of them, have a look at your GSXR ones ;)

work on the bike a little.....had a friend make me the pivot bushing. Still need to find the 80+ GS dust caps but i am able to move on to the install of the shock mounts.
Question....
do i take measurements from the gsxr frame as far as to the locations were the shock pivot arms bolt to and transfer the measurement to the kz?
also was able to remove the lower bearing that was rust weld to the gsxr stem....I will be ordering the conversion bearings...
any opinions

You want to duplicate the suspension geometry of the Gsxr as closely as possible. Here's what I did on my Kz900 with Gsxr suspension.

And my Gpz with VFR suspension.

It not often that you have a complete donor chassis to get all the measurements from. So take advantage of Suzuki's engineering staff.
