I installed my Air Corrector Jet kit in my 1980 KZ1000 with VM28SS carburetors (Deleted Accelerator Pump) utilizing the Factory Airbox . The factory airbox has been modified as per suggestion by the (late) Larry Cavanaugh. Wire mesh screens removed from inside of box, No Air cleaner inside of box with K&N RC-2600 clamp on filter in place of Factory airbox silencer. I immediately noticed the bike "idles" better, Accelerates better. Drivability has massively Improved.. Around Town (25-40mph) the bike does not "surge/hunt" to run.. This Air Corrector Jet Kit "WORKS".... Thank You ZED1015 for making this product available to the USA ..

Thanks for the positive reviews.
It's great to see independent written proof that they do work and the improvement they provide, especially for those who have the same running issues but are dubious to their effectiveness.
More so the fact that there's more Zeds out there to enjoy running like they should , which is the MAIN GOAL :)

I had the same surge/ hunt issue. I tried everything. I replace the crush drive, tightened the chain, loosened the chain, tried different fuel pilot settings. Here is the thread I posted asking for help

Then I purchased, rebuilt a set of 28 pumpers, before they went on I installed Zed’s air correctors. I’m confident it was the air correctors that fixed my low rpm surge/hunt. Not only did he supply the correctors but aslo his experience and knowledge to help me. Just like all other members here, the willingness to help it unprecedented.

I have VM 24 with setup pilot 17.5 and main 112.5 needle is one step from highest, running pods.

1981 KZ650-D4, with 1981 z750L engine (Wiensco 810 big bore).

The bike was not running well when I got is so I can only compare against that. Now I’m happy with the performance, at least in low and mid throttle range, in high throttle range it could be better. My understanding was that with pods you must make a comptomise.

Will these jets increase the performance, not nessary more HP, but better respons in the whole range etc... ? Closer to stock with airbox?

Hi, Gordone.
Yes! The jets correct the fueling and cures the low end to mid range flat spot/hesitation which is caused by removing the airbox.
They also improve running throughout the rev range and if there are no other issues elsewhere should increase overall power over stock..
The main carb settings should be put back to stock including the needle position and pilot jets if they have been changed with only the main jet size needing an increase a few sizes.
The pods you use should be good quality K&N, S&B, APE or Uni filter etc not cheap Emgo/Moxi etc as these can cause fueling issues to them being generally less free flowing than the airbox.

I understand, my problem is... carbs vm 24 is for 650cc and I have 750cc with 810 bigbore, so I do t have stock setup...

Yes , Gordone.
What I mean is that the carbs should be left stock on the 650 settings as a base line and just larger mains for the 810.
The carbs don't know it's a 750 engine bored to 810 , it's just the same as a 650 bored to 810.
If the needles have been lifted in an attempt to cure the hesitation they should be put back to stock when the air jets are fitted otherwise you will have a very rich mid range condition .
The air jets have a similar effect to the what lifting the needle and upping the pilots attempt to do but in a more refined and reliable way , pinpointing the issue without over richening the top end which kills power and increases MPG.

I understand, so keep pilot stock and needle height stock and keep the main jet I’m using now, it should be good to go when air jet is installed?

These jets are like the missing piece of the puzzle when removing the airbox.
They cure the symptoms that are a result of the extra air flow and negate the need for complicated adjustments to the pilot and needle that don't really work anyway .
They aren't a magic cure for worn out or badly set up carbs but they are needed regardless of anything else once the airbox is removed.
Whether the main is correct now I don't know but if it is then you would leave it as is …

On another note those VM24's will be heading for the small side now you are out to 810cc.
I would get hold of a set of VM26's to make the most of the increase.

I understand, if you jetting is spot on, don’t do anything with the jets when installing the air jets, and if they was some of they will still be some off (more testing/tuning can be done).

What about the air mixture screw, can just keep it as is, if I’m happy?
