So… following all the advice; camshafts want in really well, being held down with a clamp. I did it differently this time, and I got the camshaft caps for the exhaust side in place before putting the intake camshaft in place.
So now I have both camshafts in place, two lined arrows and a 44 pin count from arrow to arrow.
Will follow advice and torque them down to a lot less that in the manual, and get the cam cover on and then the tensioner, rather than as the manual says.
looking good! Some pics for reference

    Coming together now Carlos

Excessive chain slack between the cams?.

    Doesn't hurt to triple check

    Yes!  You are correct.
    Well spotted.
3 and 4 need swapping back otherwise the cam endfloat won't be controlled.

Wow! That was a close call. I must have misplaced them in any of the xx times I took them off. Thank you so much guys!
i had actually not read the thread and went along with adjusting the valves.
triple checked the timing and all seems ok to me. Chain is really taught now the tensioner is on.
opened the cover and held the camshaft in place with clamps; and swapped the camshaft caps.
valve adjustment is done, all of them close to 0,15.
ready to move on to the frame!

    some pics again

I hope you backed off the tensioner before refitting the cover .

    No I didn’t….

What is your advice on what to do.

Should I take it off and back off the tensor before refitting it?
