Looking at the scooter itself I cant see how I can keep the fork oil bleed screws pointing outwards if I switched the forks. And the tabs that are supposed to bolt to the fender stays would be pointing forwards not back. I'm going with the idea that I'm a forward sort of guy unless someone tells me thats nuts.

If I wanted a modern bike I'd get a GPz

Thanks for that but I'll be damned if I'm going to take the front end apart again just to satisfy swest's unreasonable love of rear mounted calipers

Stands to reason. Instead of pulling on the forks, they're behind them. Mine are H2 calipers I got when I was wrenching at a MC salvage yard.
I like them for the cooling fins and they take the same pucks as the Z1.
