Oh shit. Did I put the forks on the wrong sides? Looking at the manual the LT Caliper is in front of the forks so I figured the RT would be too. Does it matter if they are front or back?

They'll work ether way. It was supposed to improve braking. I did it over 40 years ago. Before that I had only one disk. I can lock up the front tire at speed and have a few times.

Looking at the scooter itself I cant see how I can keep the fork oil bleed screws pointing outwards if I switched the forks. And the tabs that are supposed to bolt to the fender stays would be pointing forwards not back. I'm going with the idea that I'm a forward sort of guy unless someone tells me thats nuts. ;)

Yeah, you have the fender stays. But ask yourself this, why are all the new bikes with calipers behind the forks?

If I wanted a modern bike I'd get a GPz :) Meanwhile I'm figuring (if it works) my Frankenbrake setup for my twin will haul me up a whole lot shorter than the old single disk did ;)

If you swap the right fork and caliper to the left and the left to the right the drain screws will still face out. The fender brace tab will be to the front, but a 1000a fender without the braces will work. The factories moved the calipers to the rear to improve the feel. The stock caliper on my 78 kz750b is mounted behind the fork tube.

Thanks for that but I'll be damned if I'm going to take the front end apart again just to satisfy swest's unreasonable love of rear mounted calipers :P

Come to think of it that seems like a lot of weight sitting forward of the centre line of the wheel. That combined with the rake of the forks might make for some interesting steering effects. I think I'll switch them around in the spring when I put the calipers on.

Stands to reason. Instead of pulling on the forks, they're behind them. Mine are H2 calipers I got when I was wrenching at a MC salvage yard.
I like them for the cooling fins and they take the same pucks as the Z1. B)
