A little update. I swapped out the rear sprocket from a 530 42T to a 40T. accomplished what I wanted, dropped the RPMs a bit. I dropped RPMs at highway speed and still have plenty of bottom end grunt left. This combo actually puts me pretty close factory ratio according to gear commander. I got my ADE adjustable cam gears for my Web 110 cams. Just need to pic up my degreeing wheel tomorrow. Any suggestions from the pros before I drop in this new cam?

So I get to join the ranks of installing Helicoils in cam cap towers. 20 steps back to make one step forward. :pinch: I knew it was just a matter of time with as many times as I have had the cams in and out. :blink:

On a positive note I did resolve my oil pressure issue. I found the screen clogged with what seems to be chewed paper towel :whistle: . Since I had it torn apart I pulled the pump apart, it was in good shape. I did replace the paper gasket with a super thin foil gasket. I shouldn't have any issues with the oil pressure now.
I will also be adding an electric fan with thermostat control to my oil cooler. It will turn on in the 180-190 range and off in the 160-170 range.

Im watching the whole project , but I am interested on how the oil cooler and fan work together as I will be doing something like that in my belly pan

Thanks Dave, let me fill in some blanks for you. I am using a nontraditional oil cooler, a B&M Super Cooler,




I will be using this aluminum ball bearing fan behind it




The fan will be controlled by this inline Thermal Switch Assembly for AN Hose you can get one that turns on at 180 or 190




It is very easy to wire, switched power to thermal switch -> to fan power lead ->fan ground lead to chassis.

Should be a pretty clean install.

I have been wondering; what are your thoughts now on the Motogadget system?
IIRC, you used pretty much every component for that system. Any insights for those considering it?

Thank you Wrench. The Motogadget is fantastic, I had to rewire the bike anyway because I did not want to leave the old harness. Everything about it is awesome. I like not having to carry fusses. If something shorts out the M-Unit simply pops a breaker. I accidentally dropped a wrench that arched between my M-Unit power connection and the frame. It just flashed at me, I removed the wrench and it reset itself. The RF key is just cool, I didn't want an ignition key. The M-Button saves wire as it is a BUS, meaning it has all of your hand controls connected to it and then has one wire from the handle bars to the M-Unit. If it's in the budget, I say go for it. As for the hand controls themselves they work great, the most you would need is a 3 button and a 2 button. Let me know if you have any other questions.
