It looks pretty healthy in my book by the nice baby $hit brown color of the exhaust valves, and exhaust port!!! Lack of carbon buildup in chamber even with the two ring Yoshimura slipper pistons, and no valve guide seals on the exhaust side. It was a Yoshimura head that I had done up back in 1979.

That's the way Pop did his heads back then. Their theory was it would let a small amount of oil lube the valve from galling and then keep it from sticking the valve to the guide. This motor never had a hint of smoke, even after going a whole year without a teardown!!!
I did see a few motors back then built by drag race engine builders that did seize the exhaust valves to the guides, and after just a few laps around Daytona. A couple of those motors were big time blow ups!!!! Done blowed up real good!!!!

if you ever remove the valves i would love to see a shot down the short turn radius from the seats.

I have test fitted to see if my collector fits in my oven. And I made a nice stand to hold the collector when I coat it. Now if it dries out a bit, I am ready to coat my parts!!!! (I hope)
