Going through my parts boxes for my Kz, I found an order form for a photo of me and my Superbike from like 30 years ago. I tracked down the photographer, and he went through his years of negatives for me and found it. He was more than happy to sell me a couple. Many thanks to him for doing what he did so I could get this photo!!!
This photo is of the very last time I raced my Kz1000. It was taken at I.R.P. back in 1985 or 1986 at a WERA race weekend.

I'm a step ahead of you already, Pete!!!!!! I put it in my TV room between Michael, and Mark!!!!
Formula 1 starts tonight from Melbourne. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

I think I've seen that shot before. What shocks are those. I had a pair but the shafts were rusty. I tossed them.

Back then, I got my frame and swing arm from Pierre DesRoches of the Vetter Kawasaki fame. Then I just looked around at all the other bikes and saw what worked the best, and I copied it. No use copying the 10th place bike. I used to take rolls of film at Daytona, then run back home and buy or make what I saw down there in time for my season to start back in the Midwest.
Now that I look back most of the top privateer Kawasaki's running in AMA Superbike mostly ran the same thing. Look at Chuck Parme's KZ1000. He was the fastest and placed the highest privateer in Superbike points in 1980. Looks close to what I had back then, and what I am putting back together now!!!
