SO how many hours have you spent on this so far? Also, do you use water based paint?

would have been done several wees ago had my side covers come out havent really tracked the hours
but prepped the tank couple hours cleared it, chromed it.cleared it again.
laid out & masked emblems, reasnded painted laid out stripes painted stripes cleared it sanded recleared and thats where I am at

I have painted the side covers 3 times and am still not happy with them so gonna start over on them
my stencils were made of paint mask and its almost clear and too hard to see when you are usein 3 colors and multi layers

If I had to guess I would say aprox 40 hours but I really dont know I havent worked on it in a week or so out of frustration

No I use PPG B/C The next one I do will the graphix will be with airbrush paint which is waterbase
I wanted to be different I guess lol

Thanks! You've done excellent work. I cannot do that, but I am tempted to bring my spare body kit to a school that teach students to paint and let them have a go at it. I'll use stock emblems, though, I just want a cool paint scheme. Paint quality on my bike is excellent, but boring and doesn't do the bike justice.

How it is

Thank you man appreciate the props. I know what you mean I have always wanted a solid black bike but
just think i would grt bored with it.

using standard emblems I would have been done in a few days but wanted to incorperate my chroming process into this scheme and with Les's quality of craftmenship I wanted to make sure his paint was close

if you want to send me a spare set i can hook you up for whatever it cost in paint for instance
a pint of corvette daytona sunrise was 60.00 the 2012 gm color i used on Les' was 160.00 pint wholesale so if you use a reasonable color with primer sand paper tape cleaners etc... clear avg 200.00 in materials for top grade paint PPG vs off brand

my buddy had the high school IT class do his and it came out great for free lol

Take your time man, this is probably going to hit some big shows before it hits the streets. I'm going to use it on a new build using all the parts I make to show off along with the bike I ride now showing the wear and tear along with video and photos of it getting busy and some time slips showing the function of the overall package.

Almost everything I do I've allready did it in my mind, inspiration as you say it. I know what I'm after and the path to get there. Almost to the point I can close my eyes and see it. May seem a little over kill but has served my well in a lot of projects we build at work. It's a good feeling when engineers come to you for approval on machine and fixture design or better yet ask me to just do it.

Not to mention I would have to pay taxes and fees for the entire insured value plus fees for the custom officer having to go through the trouble of billing me :( I recently bought a pair of $25 used shock absorbers from USA and with freight, taxes and fees they ended up costing nearly 100 bucks on top of the purchase price.

But again - thank you very much for your offer!
