As long as you have some decent brackets fabricated(aluminum/steel sheet metal), you can pretty much put it anywhere.

I actually bought the twin-ness and I tried to mount it underneath the seat for a hidden look. That was a bad idea because I hit a HUGE pothole and sent little bits of Twin-ness out behind me. The Twin-ness felt cheap, but the bulbs were bright and it looked bad ass.

After that I bought a zx6r taillight and made my own tail section out of aluminum. I bolted it to the seat and it worked out pretty well.
