4to6 inch over arm and 17x5.5 rim?

Hey everyone haven't been on here in a while but I have been working on the bike recently and I'm going to make some struts for it any tips or suggestions. I understand the basic idea but looking for cool designs or anything like that.. And what is the thikness of the plate that most people use..

I like the round stock a lot better. It's what they sell at pingel and all of the drag race places too. Length is usually 10-12" depending on what you want. Here's a set I sold recently:
