Welcome to z-jungle!
My friend is still cleaning out his dads house and hasn't found the title yet. His sister handled his dads paperwork and she is also looking for it. I think the other Z1 frame and motor has a date of 11 74, but the frame is stripped down and I see no chain oiler on it.
Thanks for the welcome!

Thank you sir!
I like this link. I guess I have a lot of reading to do. I even like these street fighter bikes you guys have made, but the triple trees look custom. I also like these mono shock setups. Like I said before. I have a lot of reading to do before I start buying or cutting. I assume there are vendors here that can make or mod triple trees, if I go that route?

If you post the frame and engine numbers myself, or someone from Z1 owners club can determine the year. If you hack up a Z1, at least sell the original parts so someone else can restore theirs.

I may just do my mods to the frame and engine I dug up out of the weeds then and keep the whole bike for a restoration at a later time.
Okay, I went out in the shed to get these serial numbers.
The whole bike numbers are:
Frame Z1F-45780
Engine Z1E 045808
Frame and Engine numbers are:
Frame Z1F-64252
Engine Z1E 064368

a stem swap can adapt any frontend you choose(within reason)to your bike.
as long as you dont cut the frame up you can always return it to stock if you desire.

Ahh, you guys are swaping stems. I wondered how you put different front ends on these bikes. Swingarms I understand more, except for the monoshock setups, but I'll learn. Helped a buddy with his Z1 drag bike back in the early 90's. Extended the swingarm and lowered it. Man was that thing fast!
I've been thinking of buying this bike to drive for now, but concerned about the fouling plug on one cylender. Could this be more than a carb issue?

Id buy that if I knew for sure it had the 1170 kit in it and it had decent compression.

That's the thing? I'm wondering if that cylender that fouls plugs might have a ring problem?
I think my dad has a comprssion gauge in the shop somewhere? Any ideas what compression should be? I know enough to take readings on more than just the one jug to give me an average, but any ideas to give me a ballpark figure on what the compession should be with this big bore kit?
