One more thing I'd like to do during this build is to document the weight of parts that I take off and the those that I install to see what net loss (or gain? ) I will achieve. The SSSA weighed in at 34.5 lbs sans wheel and tire. The stocker with wheel and tire weighed in at 64.5 lbs. So as long as the Triumph wheel and tire are under 30 lbs, I'll have lost some weight! :cheer:
Now the frame weighed in at 53.5 lbs, but I'll be removing less and adding more, so I don't expect to loose much weight here. Now I just need some paint remover and an argon refill..... B)

Ok Adam, when you weighed your frame, did you have the centerstand and sidestand attached as in the picture? I'm getting ready to finish my welds on my stripped frame and I want to compare apples to apples.

Yes, I weighed it with the two stands. I did that figuring it was representative of a complete, stock frame. Any modifications, including removal of the center stand, would be reflected in the post mod weigh in.

Cool, I'll weigh mine with the sidestand in place then. I think that you will be pleased at the end result. I threw my frame on the scale the other night, but I can't remember if the sidestand was on or not. Anyway, with my centerstand deleted, passenger footpeg mounts deleted, etc I was seeing just under 50 lbs. I'll have to get a little more scientific for the actual weigh in b/c my frame wouldn't balance on the scale on it's own. Once I finish my welds, I'll get the final answer. Stay tuned!

Well I didn't finish my welds, but I had to get a better measurement on the weight. My frame weighed in at 48 lbs. The GSXR swingarm, wheel, tire, brake rotor, sprocket, and the shock with all linkage parts weighed in at 63 lbs. Net loss of 7 lbs for me. I'll take that.

You lost more than 7 lbs, my rear suspension weight did not include the weight of the stock shocks. You lost an additional 8 lbs removing the stockers. Thats a 15 pound diet ;)

I meant to take out the shocks and weigh them last night to add that in as well. However, one glance at the pile of parts they are under, and well that's a no go. Not worth the effort.
