Still waiting for parts and now looking at the front end I know I need a fork seal but I have no idea how to take the front end apart?

Trying to work on a KZ without the manual is a very bad idea! It is by far the most important tool you will use for the KZ. The Kawasaki Service Manuals are usually available on eBay; just be sure to get one for your bike's exact year & model as there are differences. Ed

This manual 'question' is mentioned here with almost daily tedium, it really is a no-brainer.
1980 Gpz550 D1, 1981 GPz550 D1. 1982 GPz750R1. 1983 z1000R R2. all four aces

Well I do need one it could help me out for sure with the build . The bike is slowly being but back together I've found lots of small things that I would not have seen without disassembly
Like the burnt wires grounding out and overheating I believe and no big rush its just me having to do something to the bike like an addict.
I'll sign up for Kawasaki anonymous and the manual will help keep the bike clean.HA HA

FREE Factory Kawasaki Manual Download Here!!!!
www.pdf-archive.com/2013/01/09/gpz750-full/
Even though the manual has a GPZ on the cover, it's a KZ750 manual, plus there are supplements for all the various updates for each successive year after 1980.
Gasket goop = Threebond 1184. Use Google to find some and then buy it. Lots of sources.
You didn't mention what you are trying to torque so no clue what to suggest other than get the manual.

Primary chain skipping? You sure? There is no way to change the chain without splitting the lower engine cases.

I dought if its the primary chain too ......did you replace the gear and not just the rollers and springs ? Starter clutch could still be slipping. Check the cam chain adjustment too like the manual says. Pan gasket should go on dry and in "inch lbs" .... I think around 61 to 78 on my 650 anyway........ check your for sure......No pattern in the manual middle out ...side to side and go slow and easy.
How did you get this back together without the manual too....... did you torgue the 3 bolts holding the st clutch to the gear to 25 to 27lbs (specs for my 650 anyway) and apply blue loctite to them and the oil pump screws? Center Punch the screws holding the oil pump to keep them from lossening up ? Lotta info in the manual you need to read.

Yes found all specs to do the job but sad to say with the oil pan off I can put power to the starter and see the chain jump the teeth on the crank oh ya all new parts went in 58 tooth gear and all so splitting the case is crazy for me to have to do for that I will get a manual Outch!

So what would be really cool is if I could find a chain tensioner to fit in there somehow you saved me a lot of headaches but don't think that's possible or going to happen so looks like splitting the case is my only option
