I would trust z1e. They have built a good reputation in this sphere and I have purchased from them before and had a great experience. If you have any questions about anything, they have good customer service.

If you have replaced the throttle cable recently with a new one, the cable may not be letting the butterfly valves close all the way.
That happened to me.
Old cable back on (only one cable on my '83 1000) and all was fine.

The new Motion Pro cable's inner cable was too short compared to the outer sheath.
I tried cutting some of the outter sheath off, but nicked the inner cable.

Got my intake boots. The ones I got only have a raised ridge around the hole at the inlet. Should apply a small amount of RTV

No.  Most RTVs don't hold up to gasoline anyway.
