I am going to take a stab at this. Can you remove just half the carbs off the bar to get to the bell crank or does it have to be completely dis assembled?

Do you have to remove everything off the throttle shaft to split the carbs?

In my opinion you only have only remove carb# 1+2 to slide out the cank wheel to the LH site of the throttle shaft.

Taking a quick break. There must be another doll pin I havent seen. I was trying to remove carb #4 first and it appears to be still locked on(loose but not coming off)  Throttle bar is still attached I can see it would be easy to replace as soon as I can get that throttle shaft off.

Do as Scirocco says. Remove 1&2. Taking off 3&4 gets you into the return spring and cable bracket.
