 Is the consensus generally the opposite with regards to using pods with RS Flat Slide carbs?

My preference is to employ the stock air box with a set of RS carbs coming my way, but would like to hear some experiences folks have had running them that way, instead of with pods.

I just had to open the intakes a little to put on bigger hose. I don't think you'll have to do that being you have CV carbs.

My experiments thus far on this bike have been based primarily on intuition, and I continue to be encouraged. I'm not a trained mechanic, but have learned from experience that this J-motor is simple to work on, and built like a tank.
I've collected the throttle components needed to adapt from the single cable stock system to dual, using a Kawasaki throttle control that is visually identical to the single cable stock unit, except designed for two. That was an awesome find by itself.
I think the RS will ultimately be better to work with vs. VM33's, and hope to simply extend the existing rubber air-boots forward (10mm+/-) out of the air box to compensate for the shorter front to back length of the RS carbs...assuming that measurement is the same as VM33's. If it doesn't work out, I have a set of K&N pods if necessary.
...am getting pretty geeked-up. :woohoo:

I always try to have an unlocked back door. Last year about this time (while contemplating changing the head and cam), I had the same thought...so-true!
If nothing is ventured, nothing is gained.

I'll hang on to the BS34's, just in case. The beauty of that is they will still be properly tuned if needed. B)

 If the ongoing debate only applies to pod-use on CV carbs, then perhaps it is time to reconsider.
Besides that, I prefer keeping unwanted environmental elements out of the combustion chamber :) much as possible.
