Is the part suspected of needing to be drilled out shown on this diagram?

hey patton! i see you used fig:H9 from the keihin file base. if you use fig:H13 and look at #10 on the list, i have pinpointed this actually being the main jet bleed pipe. i wish i knew how to take a picture from the computer and put it on here to show ya rather than you having to look at it off site. thanx a million patton!

on those carbs you do need to take the bung off/drill it to reach the jet

trouble is carbs work better with bung in place, so you will better get a new set. not a super must, just better :)

how is the new one put back on? and the only way to get this "bung" out is to drill it out?

Here's one way to include a picture (photo, image, etc.) in your post.

I'm not 100% sure what you're talking about. The only thing I drilled out was the plug covering the pilot screw on the top of the carb.

If you're talking about the bleed pipe (10), I knocked mine out with a flat-tipped brass punch. Use the right size punch so you don't widen the nozzle on the tip of the bleed pipe. Put the punch down the carb body and knock the bleed pipe out through the bottom. Obviously make sure the primary main jet (11) is removed first. Check out my crude diagram.

100% correct. the bleed pipe. i see gunk all throughout these and really want these thouroughly cleaned to where purple pow, and carb cleaner is just not cutting it . so are we totally sure these arent threaded in, but just pressed in???

Pull out all the jets/needles and clean them. Spray carb cleaner through all the openings top and bottom. I had to use thin guitar string to properly clean the pilot jet. It has three holes going horizontally and one through the pilot jet vertically. This is optional but for good measure I wash the carb body with soap and very hot water inside and out. Rinse and immediately blow everything out and dry completely with the air compressor. Set the float height at 21mm from the float bowl mating surface per the factory specs. After reassembling everything, I put the carbs in a vice with a level so everything is even. Hook a clear tube up to the drain on the bowl. Your fuel level should be within 4mm +/- 1mm where the bowl mates to the carb body. These pictures are from my factory service manual.

They ARE pressed in!!!!!!!! omg and to think i contemplated drillin them a hundred times!!!! this would not have been a complete job without these out. All inside is nasty mucky pebbbly stuff that that would not budge with carb cleaner and air!! waitin on carb holder and an air duct boot, since i made it worse with the hair dryer.
