I am having problems geting my 1977 kz1000 b1 ltd running right on all 4
Number one is not fireing all the time. if at all.
I have compression, have adjusted valves, have spark,
carbs are clean!!!!
when ideling if i disconnect the plug wire from number 1 i get no change. also no change if i do this when reving it.
when i ride if i goose the throttle all the way it takes right off.... if i open it up slower it hesitates at first but as it acelerates it smothes out.
Here is a pic of my Needle of number one carbed compared to number two. It does not sit strait like 2 and the rest.
IS THIS A PROBLEM? CAN IT BE MY PROBLEM? HOW DO I FIX IT?

Would suspect the #1 carb pilot circuit is causing the performance problem at lower rpms.

Oem 1977 KZ1000 carb has pilot mixture screw (bottom located) instead of side located pilot air adjustment screw (as pictured). But the spray cleaning principals are the same.

I think the missing jet is more of a problem....
The needle jet is part #26.
It may be a press fit into the carb body.

Imo the off-center jet needle isn't a significant issue (unless it's jammed or bent), so long as its moving freely up and down inside the needle jet.
Would suspect the #1 carb pilot circuit is causing the performance problem at lower rpms.

Why not just get 4 jet/rebuild kits ~ $120 and be done with it... If one of the carbs is jacking you, who knows about the others coming your way in frustration alone, rebuild them and be done with it... once.
Seems they give you everything you'd need, gaskets, jets, o-rings etc...
OMR
i already did this. new jets, new o rings and gaskets....
disasembled carbs dipped all components rinsed them out blew them out with compressed air.
It will run on all 4 when on choke and when throttle wide open.

[Click on image to enhance view, and watch OMR ordering carb overhaul kits.]
i took this apart again today and blew it out again.
i cannot find any blockage.
it still runs on 3 accept when on choke and wide open throttle.
does this mean the only thing it can be is still a blockage in the the carb?
is there anything else it can be?
