Didn't know that the BS34s had butterfly valves on them. For choke? The ones that I have from a GPz750 do not have butterflies, just slides.

Otto, interested in the mods that you have been doing with the Mikunis and would like more info, is there a link or can you PM me the extent of envolvement. I saw the needles in the classifieds. Do those work for the small motors? Thanks.

All CVs have butterfly valves. They are what actually controls the throttle. The slides are there only to lift the needles. This is why the slides are about 25% from the bottom to start with. The slides can however restrict the throttle, if they do not lift all the way. This can happen if the vacuum is insufficient to do so. Such as, by installing pd filters. This will greatly reduce your top end. The needles should work well on any MIKUNI 34CV carb system, which utilizes 3mm needles. They will not work on Keihin carbs. They must than be matched with the correct main jets for the application. The needles only affect the fuel flow from about 25% to 85% of the throttle setting.
