There's a good chance you need new intake boots.

I forget, are you using the airbox or pods?

When I rebuilt that guy's Spectre a couple years ago, I got everything together but it ran like crap. It would only run on full choke, and if I gave it throttle the revs would shoot sky high and it sounded really bad at idle. The owner tried to tell me that I'd bent a valve or something, but I insisted that he needed new intake boots and airbox hoses. After a couple months went by, the dude finally got up off his wallet and bought new rubber bits. It took me 15 minutes to put the new parts on, then the bike fired right up and sounded SWEET!

I'm going to order some from Z1 tomorrow I've thrown enough cash at this project a little more won't hurt.... I am running pods.I spoke to WG yesterday
and he said to let it warm up pretty good but with the way the idle is hunting and rising I'm just going to wait till the new boots get here before I mess with it anymore.
