I'm finishing up my 650 to 750 swap and have a couple of quick questions.

What throttle cable do I need to hook up the carbs correctly?

And which of the vaccum holes need to be capped and the ones between the 1 and 2 carb and the one between 3 and 4 carbs are they just over flow tubes?

On my petcock I have the main fuel line and another vacuum line where does this line go on the carbs?
Thanks
Craig

This is the cable I use on my KZ1000 M2 (with BS34 carbs):

I'm not sure if your throttle control is different, so I can't say for sure if it will mate well with the top end. Call the guys at Z1 Enterprises and they can probably tell you for sure.

As for the vacuum plugs (on front side of the carbs), you should cap 3 of them and run a hose from one of them to the vacuum port on your petcock. I run the vacuum tube to the #2 vacuum port.

The ports between 1&2 and 3&4 are vents. You should run hoses from these ports back over your swingarm. If the bike tips over, gas will flow from these vents. You don't want it spilling onto a hot engine.

There are quite a few brackets on the various BS series carbs and quite a few cables as a result. Without know which bracket, you will very likely buy the wrong throttle cable.

Actually, your photos aren't showing the bracket that hold the tip of the cable sheath. I would need to see that to be able to tell you if it is the same as on my set. I think your first photo shows part of the bracket at the top, but it would help to see the whole thing.

Yeah, that looks the same as mine. So the carb side of the cable can be the same as the one I linked earlier. Just don't know what the handle side connector is like. Perhaps you could post a photo of your throttle grip housing where the cable connects to the grip.

Yeah, the handle side connetion is different than mine. First off, the BS34 only uses one "Pull" cable. Your handle is setup for a two cable "Push/Pull" configuration. Not a big deal in that you can just remove the push cable.

The way the cable mounts to your handle is different than on my M2. On yours, the metal elbow is below and outside the control housing. On mine, the metal elbow is encased inside the control housing, and the cable exits from the front side of the housing.

And I'm guessing that at the carb end of your throttle cables, there is an adjuster nut. That won't work with your BS34 cable bracket.

What you need is a cable that can screw on to the bottom of your control housing with the elbow outside the housing, and then on the carb side, you need the cable sheath to end with a metal cap with no adjuster nut.

I looked through Z1E's collection of Kawi throttle cables, and (just looking at the photos) the one for the KZ1000P LOOKS like it may work. I don't know if the length is right though. Here's the link:

www.z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=2592

I'd suggest you call Z1 and talk with them. They have a catalog from Motion Pro who makes those cables. They may be able to find the right combination of connetors and lengths for you.

Good luck.

I can tell you the 82+ POlice uses a push/pull cable similar if not identical to the one shown. But the carb bracket is different. A single pull throttle cable might work in this case.
