The Moriwaki is almost done. Total weight without fuel is 144kg. The frame weights 10 kg but the swingarm is heavy at 5kgs.
I sold the green 650 and I want to have at least one green bike so I painted it green instead of the Yellow/blue Moriwaki colors.
Now I’m waiting for warmer weather so I can start riding and tuning 🙂

nice effort man! havent been here in ages, so nice to see your road racers in action
what series are you doing? BHR?
not sure what model is the frame of the moriwaki replica from
is it form a road model or you managed to find a true moriwaki frame?
will pop here more often just to see how you are doing!
I raced a 750/810 gpz and a a 550 gpz, so will be glad to help

You turned that around quick. Love the paint! Post some pics of it on track when you make it there.

Thank you.
I believe Moriwaki called the 400cc bikes Zero X1.
Early ones steel framed and later aluminium.
Not many were made for Z engines. most of them for Hondas.
The frame is a new made replica.
I have raced in the Scandinavian championship, CRMC and klassik-motorsport.
This year I will try to race with the VFV-MHM I think it’s called in Germany.
And also I want to try flat track racing with the 650 this year. We have no big tracks like in America but small speedway tracks.
Do you still race?

hei, seen the stuff your frame builder does, looks good!
regretfully i had a big road accident some years ago, so even if tracks are safer than roads, at 60 years old decided to stop. im ok now, so even at 63 i still feel the need for speed![:) :)](/media/kunena/emoticons/8.png)
who knows, might be back....still have all my race bikes.
just wanted to remind you that the z500 had 5 speeds, but the 6 speed gearbox of the 550 will fit inside
but mayeb you know that....
I did flat track school as i was thinking about it befroe the crash, take lessons, its very diffferent from road racing, i went to Pete Boast school in UK, good guy
but what 650 do you want to race, dont tell me its a four cylinder!

Re: Z500 for racing
Today 00:42
Sorry to hear about your crash.
All my 400/500/550 engines has had the 6-speed gearbox. Maybe just early ones had 5-speed?
I have also fitted one of those 6-speeds in my 650.
Yes it’s the Yellow/blue 650 that I plan to flattrack. I know it’s too heavy but it’s just for fun.
The rules say preferably use spoke wheels or cast wheels have to be covered so foots don’t get inside. And no front brake.
I will use “worn out” roadrace tyres so I widened a stock rear wheel to take a 150 rear tyre from my magnesium race wheels.
I have a Z1 front wheel and an old Avon AM18 19” that was too soft for road racing.
after that I will try to change the rim and spokes to 18” so I can use my old front tyres from the road racing.
Any advise on 18” spoke/rim conversion kits that will fit the Z1 front wheel?
