Rolf, the one you repaired and showing mounted is the correct one for your 76. The one loose is an aftermarket based on the 1975 Z1 style. Starting in 1976 they used a different style ON/OFF top switch. Kim you are correct too, same switch was used on the 650 also. As well as the many other models. The upper half did change along the way thru 1980. Note the circle dot where the PO was but still retained the foreword yellow "engine stop" feature. Then you have different lower halves. Where the wiring was routed thru the handlebars, no notch cutout on casting because thats where the hole in bars was for routing. Casting retaining pin changed from top half to lower half on some later models and blank-out plates for the markets/models where headlight was always on. This where buying a unit can become confusing because a lot of vendors just lump them in multiple categories not knowing the difference. Then there's the subtle differences of wiring from model to model. Confused yet, ha? Rest assured, You have the correct RH switchblock installed!!

There's also the issue where euro/row models had "po" side light position between off and on whereas US models had on/off without po.
My UK 650b1 has off/po/on positions but my US 650b1 has just off/on (until I swopped the sealed headlight and switch for Euro spec.

This is my gig, redo them for the masses. Yes Warren, you probably ended up with one of the two variations. They only came as two examples, a recessed big casting dot or the PO. While we in the states didn't use the "city light which is really what that PO means", wiring was set-up for both generally. Rolf, You should be good. Unless that ramp plate you'd fixed fractures? I have tubs of those if needed.
