15/33 or 15/35 would be stock with a 630 chain and still be fast. 5000 +/- at 70 MPH 16/35 would be about 4000 RPM at 70
A setup like that would be a blast to ride in a straight line like a "Chopper" but would handle like one too. It does have a certain 'Cool" factor.

Is that $220? It would help if I could read what you're writing. Texting on a phone?
What size chain are you running? What are the teeth counts front and rear?
From what I remember, your bike was geared too low for the FWY. Smaller in the rear will lower the RPM's at speed but cost you off the line acceleration.
If you want to ride a drag bike on the street, all I can say is, that's the cost of doing business.

Ok I just reread the thread. TMW Going from 46 to 40 would lower the RPM's. 17 on the front? I don't think I could fit one that large in mine. Maybe I could IDK. Being the rear sprockets are cheaper, that sounds like the way to go in case you have to buy another one in the middle. The chain will have to shortened of course.

Sounds like a plan but check out the chain when you have it off hopefully its not too worn as you are suppose to always replace both sprokets and the chain in a set...... being a drag bike it may have not had a easy life......... Sounds like you figured out the vibration you were getting with others thinking it was too full of oil?

Larger front and smaller rear seems backwards to me.

the first question what size chain ? 630 or 530 ? a 17 tooth 530 is about the same diameter as 630 15 tooth .when going with a 530 chain you need a larger dia. front so the chain does not rub on the swing arm. 17 - 40 would be a 2.35 ratio.about the same as a 15 -35 is 2.33 ratio in 630 chain size.

Sounds good. The size of chain was and is the question.

Perhaps I missed it, but he will need to consider the circumference of that rear tire since is likely is quite different from stock.
