Heres what my personal experiance with pennzoil motors tends to look like

I saw pretty much the same thing when I took apart my old Datsun pick up after 105K with Pennzoil. I've been using Amsoil ever since.

It doesnt matter what you put in there if you never change it. I had a buddy believe the Mobil 1 BS and left it in there for a year driving 1 mile to work and 1 mile home here in Montana. After a year the Mobil 1 had turned into tan jello so thick it wouldnt run out the drain plug. It wiped out the cam, rockers, lifters etc but still ran althought noisey with fresh oil. After cleaning it out of the pan and replacing all the parts he asked me what he should buy next. My answer was a sign, a For Sale sign. Ive used Castrol GTX 20/50 in every bike Ive ever owned and never once had a problem with it. Your results may vary

I use Mobile 1 in my C5 corvette because it cam from the factory with it. car now has 148,000 miles on it and still has good oil pressure and pulls as hard as it did new.

I change it when the computer says to.

Joe Gibbs is a firm believer in ZINC. I AGREE. I used to use only diesel oils for that reason. It WORKS, from experience verified by teardowns on car engines. Zinc has been removed from modern oils (causes O2 sensor failures) but is still available. Roller bearing KZ engines biggest concern is the trans and clutch compatibility. I use any of the "racing" 20w-50 conventional oils with no problems, including turbos. NEVER use a trans windage tray on a street bike!!! I wouldn't ever use one anyway.

Wireman do you really think that driving 1 mile each way to work at zero or below temps wont fill any oil pan with water & turn it into jello ? The brand makes no difference, this wasnt an attack on Mobil 1, its great oil but it doesnt last forever under all conditions. My point was any oil needs to be changed. if you dont agree, fine, I have no problem with that, it aint mine. being a lineman I can understand a wiremans thinking. That was a joke, no Im not serious.
