Likely a good rebuild/tuneup with just the 10.25:1 pistons will make enough difference that you would notice. Will it be what you want? Dunno. Cams will push the power higher up in the power band, but the larger/higher compression pistons should help balance that out some.

I dont think so.Double Dub said basically the same thing.Just trying to get some clarity and focus so whatever advice is offered is meaningful rather than off-the- lip bullshoi. We get enough of that.BJ

MKll engine was installed in '79 and '80 KZ1000,and I think the '81 police bikes.
Stought bottom ends.

No "kits" like the car guys.

I agree with the others
1075/10.25,small carbs(quicker throttle reponse but will run out of breath up top, built in rev limiter ;) . )
small cams(under .400)
Learn about degreeing cams if you don't already know about it.
Old Man Rock has a wright up about it in the file base I believe.
K&Ns,pipe of your choice.

It was a joke dude. If people would search a little, they would find what you said to be a common response.:)

That would be a good starting point. That would be a good project, nice and simple. Just picking back up that 20hp, you were down in the begainning, would be a real increase! Anything else, would be a real plus for ya. If your bore clearance is okay, you're in tall cotton. Good luck, take your time and have fun.

My 10.25 : 1 1105 with unknown cams, 26's that were jetted way lean put down 81.73 hp and 50.34 tq when I did a baseline run when I first bought it. I haven't had a chance to do a run since I got the carbs, timing etc. sorted out and took care of the worn out cam chain tensioner and idler assembly. It does run noticeably stronger though and is streetable enough that I ride it to work almost every day.

The head is the same as what you have now.
BS34s will require different carb boots, yours might need to be replaced if they are old and need to be replaced anyway.
