If your "friends" are telling you to part out the bike without having a clue whats actually wrong with it, well it's time to find new friends.

i guess it's really up to you.
if it is a total rebuild then yes it will get costly.
cheaper then new bike payments though.
do it yourself, ask all the questions you want and we will answer.
when your done you will know her inside out.

go get you own compression tester, dump a little oil in the cylinders and see if it's in the rings or the head.

there are people on this forum that will walk you through every aspect of rebuilding and repairing your bike.if you are short of tools check the pawn shops and just get the essential tools wrenches and sockets and some decent screwdrivers.if you have never even worked on anything before you can do this with the help from here.
i always hate when i think someone is a d!ck and someone i know says"oh he's okay,you just got to know him":dry: .then i am like "fu<k him" and after a while you figure them out and they are really okay.

actually i suggested that he start wearing pull ups at night because of his bed wetting issues ! :S :woohoo:
