Isn't dangerous to use a thermostat on the oil cooler ? I mean what happen if it get stuck close (stuck thermostat happen with age).... head will not be lubricated ? Using a thermostat on water cooling is no big deal since it will not seize the engine or prevent lubrication on the engine.

btw, nice cooler mine doesn't have any thermostat on my gpz straight from the oil pump. I will change it (engine get too hot)... temperature where i live reach 110F in the summer.

actually, a stuck closed thermostat would essentailly be a closed loop, right back to the fitting where you started from, so no oil cooling, but eveything else fine...
Right?
Anyhow, not happened to me yet. The lockhart that i replaced came with a thermostat, it just got really ugly after 20 years...but all of them have worked fine to date.
