hahahahahhahahahaha, you old guys and you're bickering. Well wouldnt a high compression 1075 be just as unstreetable? I kinda figured i would build a motor with all the potential right away, but just stay toned down. if i want more power, i just need to go to higher compression pistons and bigger cams. I would rather have it this way than to make the same power out of a small motor at max potential. I just wanna know if i can still take my dragbike to the car show, or for a little cruise once and a while. I have other bikes to ride, so this one will be just for fun

i was really considering building a blow through turbo system, or nitrous bike. Thats why i was thinkin i could build a nice lower compression motor, then spray the hell out of it on the dragstrip

Sure...a big-block on the street is feasible. Lots of them out there. I plan on doing it myself. I'm in the same spot as you...deciding on what compression ratio to use. Just remember that to get the most out of it, it will come down to the combination of ALL the parts. What cams you planning on running? They will help determine what compression ratio you might want to run. You can run high compression with any cam but the bigger cams need the higher ratio to get the full benefit from the high lifts. Smaller cams don't need the high ratio so you can get by with the lower compression ratio and be more streetable. You need to decide just how radical you want or how much power you want out of it. I know of guys running 13:1 with .460/.485 cams on the street but I'm sure it's temperamental but is sure would get gone in a hurry! Also, once you get past .435 lift, the head has to be set up different then with the smaller cams and that will dictate which cams you can run. You can't switch back and forth. Lets hear from you know-it-alls out there on your opinions on this!
big bore and a light crank(sounds like a porno! :S    )mid size cams .380-.410 range with a decent head.this thing will make so much power so quick youll be seeking counseling! :woohoo:

Don't know how much truth there is to this but was told a few years ago that 11:1 was a good ratio for nitrous. Have no idea why that particular ratio but this guy was a nitrous runner so figured he knew what he was talking about. BUT...just recently read on another site to not worry about compression ratio...build the motor and spray! Go figure. Both of your ideas have their weak and strong points though.
