Once you start to install the cams you DO NOT turn the motor over. I deal with 650's but I know you don't turn over the motor.

once the engine is at tdc on no 1 and you have got the exhaust cam started in position you do not rotate the engine anymore until you have the cams in and your tensioners in properly!!!!!!!. i take it you dont have a manual to go by.

Just found my other shop manual. First get 1 and 4 to tdc, slip the exhaust cam through the chain and posistion it were the marks line up with the cylinder head surface and facing towards the front of the motor. Thenb count 28 links, match the 28th lik up with the #28 marked on the intake sprocket. Am i reading this right? Or am i still lost in the dark here? Thanks guys.

I'm assuming this is for the Z1(900) in your profile.. If not, disregard...

Also assuming your using stock OEM cams, not adjustable CAM sprockets... Either case, this portion is the same other wise follow the Dumb%%*&%* tutorial...

Set your timing mark on cylinder 1/4 on "T" and leave for the moment.

Then insert camshafts as in the following diagram... ;)

NOTE: The 28th count is one pin up from the mark then 28 over!!!!
