This one is plasma coated and finished in Kal Gard GunKote.
I am trying to find a photo of it, but Dan Gurney's All American Racers made a real nice 4 into 1 in chrome for the early Z1's that was sold through Kawasaki's Accessory Division back in 1974 and 1975!! GREAT SOUNDING PIPE TOO!!!

The rear megaphone was really bent up from a get off so I changed the midpipe and went with a Kerker Can that was somewhat tunable for sound. Differnet cores were available at the time. The thing I like about the murray pipe is that the oil filter and drain plug were accessable without removing the pipe. This is my Z1A with a Mk II tank and 1000 side covers. It is bored from 900 to 1000 and is running 29 smooth bores and Electronic ignition from a ELR 1000.
I have a Murray on my z1 and thought for sure you needed to drop the exhaust?

Is that an original swing arm on your bike?
Any recommendations?

Wow this is an old thread. Oh well, my 2 cents says that pipe looks a lot like an R C Engineering pipe. Had one on a 76 750four. Awesome pipe. The deep throaty sound it made was like no other. Check out this old pic.Hmm... I've went through this whole thread and not really saw a header that looks exactly like mine.... saw a few that were similar.... Makes me wonder what it is now....
I'll get some better pictures if anybody really cares...

That's Russ Collins holding an RC pipe next to what was at the time the fastest/quickest Honda on the planet.
EDIT ...
Sorry guys, Having a hard time getting that pic to load. Just look up RC Engineering 4-1 header pipe. Something should come up.
That looks alot like the one I had on my Z1. I was told it was a high dollar pipe and had a guy offer me 500 bucks for it and a kerker in 1981. I said no
