Against my better judgement I bought this over the weekend, I may have over paid and I need this like I need a hole in my head.

Whatever! Lol. Looks really complete. A few wrong parts but that’s ok. These first year 1000’s are gaining in value.

The paint is easy to fix and it doesn't look like it's been thrown down the road so you're off to a good start.

And it's not our job to talk anyone out of anything, unless we want to buy it for ourselves.

I dig the paint... it may be worth saving for a future project, or just to hang on the wall.
I say just get some new bodywork and have it painted.

I know exactly what you mean, around a year ago on a wet Sunday morning I casually googled "Z1 tailpiece on later model" to see if it would fit (just day dreaming) the first thing that came up was DavidO's CSR build thread   that was it before I could change my mind I was bidding on an 82 Ltd. Look at me now, a garage hermit withe at least 6 months to go

Looks like a great starting point, as no sign of road rash or lots of rust.  As to a long term project, are not most projects just that.

Aside from the color choice I kind of like the paint - looks like peonies, very Japan.
