I have an Arai, and two HJC. The HJC's are a great bargain and a very good buy but the Arai is so comfortable it makes me forgive how much it cost. The HJC's also come in very large sizes, I have a xxxl head and the HJC's come in my size and two larger sizes.
In September 2012 an Arai saved my life, so I always ride with a lid.

Don't be ashamed redhawk4, having a huge noggin isn't our fault, it's like being left-handed. Wear that giant melon with pride.

But I'm left handed as well!! :) Doubley cursed, it's embarrassing when you scratch your huge noggin with your left hand. Having said that I am 6' 4" and fairly heavily built, I wouldn't want to look like a "Pinhead"

GregZ wrote: Never owned a helmet until I started dating the ICU nurse, she insisted I get one and ware it. So I picked a nice HTC full face from the local shop. The nurse and I don't talk anymore and the helmet went away on CL. Been considering another, maybe a vintage open face

Not preaching but I am a fan of All The Gear All The Time. When i wrecked my bike a few years ago I was grateful I got to walk away with just a scrape and a bruise. Without the gear however, it would have been quite the opposite. Just my .02

try Revzilla for helmet reviews they are pretty thorough. I enjoyed my Nolan n90 it was a modular. My new helmet is a Scorpion EXO1100. has a ton of great reviews. Has an air pump for the cheek pads to get a good fit.

I have a Scorpion EXO 100 3/4 helmet. Was always conscious about having my face exposed since I had always worn a full face. But figured this time around I wanted to feel the country air. Found the wind noise is a pain with a 3/4. And ridning 70 or 80 on the highway is not very comfortable if you don't have a some sort of fairing when using a 3/4. Then was given a HJC full face but is too large for my head. Just purchased this one and haven't tried it yet since the bike has been down for maintenance. Should be able to try it tomorrow. It's cheap but DOT approved. Its an EVOS. Anybody have any good or bad reviews for it? Oh, and have taken the bikini fairing off and I'm going naked for a while. So I'll see how this helmet performs.

Hawk full face modular most of the year and a half helmet for the two months that are over 90 degrees +

Full-face definitely better at higher speeds for a variety of reasons

I started out back in 1970 or so with a Bell Star. My boyhood hero, Dan Gurney wore one, so I had to have one. Hit the back of a Brinks truck about 30MPH or so. Shattered the chin piece of the helmet, but besides a black and blue chin I was alright!!!!! I theory is always buy the best helmet out there, you might have to use it one day.

Had Arai, but they don't fit my head right. Wore Shoei GRV's and Arai for many years till I stopped riding back around 2002. Started riding again this year, and I bought me a Shoei RF1200. I like racer replica paint jobs on my helmets. But Shoei does not offer any AMERICAN riders paint jobs, just furriner riders paint jobs. So I bought a standard RF1200 instead of the X12 model.

On my fat head the Shoei fits me the best!!!! The RF1200 is a little bit more wind noise than my older GRV model at high speeds!!!!

This time around I'm using the Shoei Neotech. It's the most comfortable and quietest one I've worn so far. Costs considerably more than the HJCs and Scorpion, but I think the difference in quality justifies the price.
