On a similar note... I've noted there are some pyros in the SEA area these days, with all the cars being torched I see on the K5 news. I would wonder if it wasn't a random act and your bike was singled out. So, is an insurance claim an option? Might at least contact them to see what ARSON coverage you have... might be worth looking into?

Maybe the school insurance can help. Car burgs use broken spark ceramic it break car windows. It's quiet. See if a car was broken into as well. Fking THIEVES.

That's really horrible Vic, I'm sorry that happened to you .... where do you go to school BTW?....Seymore may be onto something though, last night's K5 news had a video of some creep in a dark hoody setting fire to a bus stop and that the cops had a bead on him, might be the same guy?

It's sad that the world is full of A**HOLES who get a thrill out of f***ing peoples stuff up for no reason
I hope the person gets caught & the courts actually make him pay ,one way or another

Im going to school in San Fransisco, i have been down here less than 2 months and don't really know anyone, so i doubt it was a targeted act, appears to be just random. The campus is very small, and there are cameras but none of them work apparently. The school is in a urban area and there are lots of homeless people around, particularly at night, apparently there have been a string of vehicle burnings through out the city. As much as it kills me to part out this bike, I think its the best choice. the fenders are pretty nice, just a bit sooty, the exhaust is OK, the front end looks fine, and the rear wheel looks fine and has a newer tire on it, motor looks OK but i donw know what kind of damage it took. pretty much every thing else is shot. I have a title for the bike as well.

What is auspicious about the whole thing is I just bought an Aprilia Falco a couple weeks ago and got the plate yesterday morning. It will take over as the commuter as Im doing about 500 miles a week right now.

I hope it was just coincidence there was somebody fidiling about and you really had an errant electric fire.
Regardless, keep your spirits up.
From the looks of it, there will be very little engine damage.
You can part it out over the off season.

@Vic... hope you did file a police report. If nothing else, getting $$$ for the damage will take you a ways, with being a "starving student" and all.

I was thinking something like what zukedave has. Take to the track and have some fun. :woohoo:
