those bars will sure help you sort out the front brakes and springs and bearings...they will give you great feedback for sure....time for some 3/4 " spacers on top of the springs to give pre load and tighten up that front????

The front end needs an oil change for sure. It does seem to dive a lot on the brakes. Maybe a preload spacer would help. I'm gonna do some poking around over on GSR to find out what their tricks of the trade are. I still have to get the engine oil changed, check the valves, sync the carbs, and check timing.

Rainman, I would trade these bars for a bent set of LTD bars any day. :laugh:

I got home in time to get some daylight pictures of the bike. As you can see, I need a significantly shorter clutch cable, and brake line.





This was my first time to adjust valves on a Suzuki. It's nice that you don't need shims to adjust the clearances. Since this motor is the 16 valve version, it has rocker arms that actuate the valves. On the tips of the rockers are small lash adjusters. Set 'em all to 0.005" and got her buttoned back up.

A quick update. I got the red base color shot on the body parts today. I should be able to spray some clear coat tomorrow.
